The Creeping Marsh gets its name for two reasons.
To begin with, it is said that this land was once a tropical region located between the coast to the south and the mountains to the north. However, a blight began to spread from within this land, eventually spreading to consume it entirely. Even today, druids speculate that the marsh grows almost imperceptibly while warlocks who claim to have gazed into the future say that someday it will devour the entirety of existence.
Secondly, tales and stories told by those who have traversed the Marsh speak of enormous insects that creep among the saw-grass and fens. No specific type of insect is mentioned, though purported accounts of survivors suggest that all the insects of the marsh act with purpose and intelligence far beyond the expected.
